Sensei Tyson

Meet Sensei Tyson, our Chief Instructor, who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of martial arts excellence. With 26 years of Kempo training under his belt, he has earned a 5th degree Black Belt. Additionally, he has achieved certification as a SAMI Combat Center in 2023, holding rankings in Knife, Panantukan, and Axe fighting concepts. His extensive martial arts background includes training in SAMI Combat Systems, Krav Maga, Jiu Jitsu, Silat, Muay Thai (kickboxing), and Jeet Kune Do. 

Sensei Tyson is passionate about empowering individuals, particularly children who face challenges, to reach their full potential. He understands the different struggles and obstacles they may encounter and is driven to empower them to achieve goals they never thought possible.  He receives great satisfaction from witnessing the growth in confidence, respect, and maturity that accompanies their achievements. 

With over 19 years of teaching experience, Sensei Tyson has instructed adults and children in Kempo, as well as women's self-defense classes. His exceptional instructional skills earned him the title of Instructor of the Year in Orange County, CA in 2009, and he was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2023.
